What is a Crusade?
It is a war for religious reasons. The Goal was to regain the holy land (Jerusalem) for Christians. Pope Urban II ordered them in 1095 and promised that anyone who went would go to heaven.
3 religions find Jerusalem very important: Islam/Muslim, Christians and Jews. A holy wat is a war for religious purposes. The goal was to regain the holy land for Christians. The church said Muslims killed Christians. Also said any who went on crusade would have their sins forgiven. Also said they would become rich from stealing from enemies.
